Above all, grant us an increase of our faith in His love. May each day find us closer in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. KindSaint-Jude, you who has revived hope in our hearts, you whose model merits and life bring us the divine blessings and graces, be our advocate, and lead us to Jesus and Mary. Divine Light

by benoît Lacroix, o.p.

You are light for the world. Mt 5, 14

When we think of LIGHT, we think of sparkle, brightness, dawn, rainbow, lightning, star, sun, moon. It is during the month of February that light, after being in hiding a bit during these last weeks, shows herself more until spring. Light is beautiful.

In the Bible it is written that God said: «Let there be light,' and there was light» Divine light; ever since the first day of the creation of Heaven and Earth. Some have called it the shadow of God, to show that the light is proactive and close to us. Same as God. Day and night, visible or invisible, it accompanies us. Like a friend, it is the first to love us each morning, as we wake up. The Bible says that God was the first to love us. So did light.

Here, in North America, she spoils us. Even in winter, when she plays with the snow and multiplies its sparkles. Many of us probably remember Candlemas. Feast of light, feast of candles that we light and bless in church, that we would then bring back home in case of adversity, thunder being one.

Once again, let us open the Bible. The Word of God is called LIGHT. When explaining why He came among us, Jesus said: «I am the light of the world; anyone who follows me will not be walking in the dark». This phrase was heard by the Apostles, includingSaint-Jude. And each one of them have given their lives so that the world would get to know this LIGHT called Jesus of Nazareth.

Even if I’m young or old, sick or even blind, I can love light and thank her as soon as I see her when I open my eyes. She says hello to me in the Creator’s name.

During the nest months, let us wish, just like Saint Paul, to become CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT!

«Whoever does the truth comes out into the light» John 3, 21

«While you still have the light, believe in the light so that you may become children of light.» John 12, 36

«But if we live in light, as he is in light, we have a share in another's life» 1 John 1, 7
