The Monthly Note
October 2014
by Henri de Longchampt, OP
In the Dominican Church in Montreal, we have the statue ofSaint-Jude as well as the Rosary Trio that is made up of the Mother of the Lord, Saint Dominic and Saint Catherine of Sienna. We celebrate the feasts of Our Lady of the Rosary on the 7th of October, andSaint-Jude on the 28th of October.
A great number of people have forwarded to us their prayer intentions by letter and by e-mail ( demandessaintjude@yahoo.ca ) for the solemn novena to the SAINT OF HOPE. Your letter or your e-mail is read; we respond to you and we pray for your intentions each Thursday ofSaint-Jude. We say it and we do it. It is for this reason that I also pray and celebrate the Mass on behalf of your intentions each and every day of the Novena.
Are we sufficiently aware that whenever we address ourselves to Mary to “pray for us now,” that she is interceding on our behalf before Her son and our brother? Our Mother in heaven loves all her children. She is close to those who suffer in their heart, in their soul, or in their personal lives.
Do we also realize that we have a most precious friend in heaven and thatSaint-Jude prays to God for us for whomever it is we address to him with confidence? The witnesses expressing thanks for favours obtained in the calendar year of 2014-2015 are a reflection of the many witnesses that all of you have sent us. Continue to do so!
I invite you to be united with us in prayer in your own homes. In addition to presenting your prayer intentions, the preaching of the Novena addresses the Lord’s Prayer and Hail Mary, two prayers accompanying the meditation on the life, message, death and resurrection of our Saviour and God. For those who cannot come to the Oratory of St. Jude and the Rosary in Montreal, these preachings can be found on our Internet website: www.oratoriesaintjude.org – in English and in French.
Yes, with faith and confidence we can say: Mary, Our Lady of Rosary, pray for us now.Saint-Jude, PATRON OF DESPERATE CAUSES, YOU THE SAINT OF HOPE, INTERCEDE FOR US BEFORE GOD.
