POPULAR PIETY IS A PRECIOUS TREASURE OF THE CHURCH, according to Pope Francis; it is "a space of encounter with Jesus Christ."
To put our hands on the tomb of Saint Brother André at St. Joseph's Oratory, to fetch water at the source of Notre-Dame-du-Cap, to embrace the feet of Christ on the crucifix of a church, or burning vigil lights and putting our petitions near the statue of Saint Jude, the spontaneous faith is lived on a daily basis, and it relates to small and major events in our lives.
Sanctuaries, and those attending them, lead the whole Church to better fulfill its mission of love for all children of God and let everyone, Christian or not, to discover it.
The Apostle Saint Jude fills this mission nicely. He introduces us to the Lord Jesus, which invites us to better know and live the Gospel, God's good news for us today. It is only in the actions and the words of Christ that we discover being the beloved children of God and that he walks along each of us.
Saint Jude, you are the Saint of Hope, direct us always to Christ, to his message that is full of life, hope and fraternity. Saint Jude, Patron Saint of Hopeless cases, pray to God for us!
Rest assured, dear Friends of Saint Jude, that we read all your letters and e-mails, as well as the prayer intentions put near the statue of Saint Jude in the church of the Dominican Friars. Every Thursday of Saint Jude, we pray for you and mass is celebrated for all your prayer intentions.
