The Monthly Note
December 2016
On the occasion of St. Jude's solemn novena, from October 20 through 28, we received, read and prayed for each of the thousands of intentions entrusted to us by post, e-mail or put in front of the statue of the Saint of Hope; we do the same every Thursday to St. Jude. Many people followed the novena at the St Jude's and the Rosary Oratory; I am thinking about this young Cameroonian couple whose first child, who is now three months old, is waiting for a new heart. St. Jude's Prayer Team carry this intention and the many others in our prayers every Thursday at 2:30 pm.
We are now preparing for the Nativity of the Lord Jesus, Christmas. Personally, I see it as a time of recognition. Through the birth, life, message, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, I have the happiness to know, to believe and to live as a unique person, promised to eternal life with God and with all the members of God's family.
Life is not easy and everyone has his share of trials. Let us never forget that we have brothers and sisters in the faith for whom we count and for whom we are important. In this great human and spiritual family that is the Church, there is the Order of Preachers, the Dominicans, which celebrates on December 22th, 2016, the 800th anniversary of its approval by the Pope. One of the apostolic missions of our religious Order is the Works of St. Jude and of the Dominican Vocations.
The image of the birth of Christ, including Saint Dominic, is by Fra Angelico. With the founder of the Preachers, we wish to worship the Lord Jesus, to love him, to live in his company, to serve him and to tell everyone that God's Love for us became flesh, that He is one of us, that He is our Lord and our brother. Yes, in the Christian faith, we are brothers and sisters forever, in joyful days as in difficult days.
Dear Friends of St. Jude, with confidence you entrust us your prayer intentions. Be assured of our prayers every Thursday at the 2:30 pm Mass, as well as at the Nativity of the Lord and of January 1rst Masses. With you we pray to St. Jude, our brother and friend to the Lord, to intercede in favor of your prayer' intentions sent to us. We put them and pray for them in front of the Saint of Hope' statue and the one of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Dear brothers and sisters, receive the best wishes from St. Jude's Team and be assured that your prayer intentions are important to us and to the "Saint Jude Prayer Team".
Merry CHRISTmas !
