The Monthly Note
January 2018
I asked myself if something of 2017 could help me to start well 2018.
A disabled friend, in his wheelchair, told me that two events showed him that there are still people kind and charitable. A young man noticed that my friend was going to lose his shoe; without hesitation, he stopped to help him, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. It was more appreciate than you can imagine. Shortly after, another man was riding a bicycle, followed by his young son. He made one of the most beautiful smiles to the person in the wheelchair, showing genuine human warmth and generosity.
A few minutes later, he came back to him, just to ask if everything was ok and if he needed help with anything. My friend told him that he was waiting for his paratransit, which arrived at the same time. He had little time to thank him and ask him his name, Abdelahtif (?) He concluded by saying thank you to these two people and all those who make the world a nicer place to live.
I am sure we all have such events to tell about. Can we decide not to keep them for ourselves, to share them around us during a meal, a coffee, a visit to acquaintances? Our world needs good news!
Many are hungry and thirsty to be love and recognized. One way to love people who are having a hard time is to pray for them, even pray with them, with Love. If you are in that situation, don’t hesitate to recommend yourself to the prayer of all those for whom you are important, who look at you as a brother, a sister in faith.
Saint Jude, our Intercessor to the Lord, and all the members of the St. Jude’s Praying Team, pray for all those who write to us and entrust us with their intentions. We do it fraternally at the 2h30 pm Mass, every Thursday of St. Jude.
Be confident, there is hope!
