The Monthly Note
April 2018
Christ is Risen, Alleluia! Let's prepare ourselves for the gift of the Holy Spirit!
We are in a time of Resurrection and Mission, announcing the Good News from God for all who live on our Earth!
It is in this spirit that Pope Francis took part in the preparatory meeting of the Synod on Youth, Mission and Evangelization, to be held in Rome, in October. I would like to share a brief testimony of a young person who has never been baptized, like many of your grandchildren. These young people are the future of our families, our societies and our Church.
Most Holy Father,
My name is Maxime Rassion, I am a Law student in Paris. I have not been baptized and I am not a Catholic. Today, like thousands of young people, believers or not, I have to make choices, especially about my career path. However, I am undecided, lost and worried.
This crucial choice for my studies has re-emerged in me, a form of insecurity and oppression. As if I had essentially built on the form and not on the content,
I now find myself facing a wall, the one of the deep meaning to give to my life. I think I need discernment in face of this void.
I would like to find my foundations in order to know myself better, to know who I am, in this world and in relation to God. If I believe in a transcendent power, I am overwhelmed by the hugeness of the Church and questioned between my personal will or the influence that a movement can have on me.
I feel I have not really built my spine; I would like to build a fortress in my heart.
I want to be able to choose and move forward, I have this desire deep within me, but I do not know where to start, do you know which path should I take? I sincerely thank you.
Dear Friend of St. Jude, the Dominicans and the Praying Team of St. Jude continue to pray for you, your prayer intentions and your families. We do it fraternally at the 2:30 Mass, every Thursday of St. Jude. Be confident, there is hope!
Fr. Henri de Longchamp, o.p., Director
