The Monthly Note
September 2019
The temperature is getting cooler, the school buses are back on the
road, poppies and chrysanthemums make their first appearances.
September informs us that the end of summer is near and that fall is
coming. Maybe you have a little pinch in your heart with the thought of
an ending summer, but with September, there is also the nervousness
from the return from summer holidays, the pleasure of seeing each other
after vacation time.
The atmosphere is festive, with welcoming celebrations, renewed
motivations, exciting projects and, here or there, some touches of
innovation as to say that routine and creativity must not exclude
themselves. But for others, the enthusiasm is not there. I means going
back to a grueling job or a stressful workplace.
The Saint Jude Prayer Team never takes vacations, there is never an
actual return from holidays. We pray together for all those who put
their energy to the service of a better world. So many people get
involved in so many fields to better their lives and the lives of
others! When we celebrate Labour Day, we also celebrate the Spirit of
God present often unbeknownst from all persons who devote themselves to
a cause, big or small, close or afar. We pray Saint Jude that they do
not get discouraged is the results are not always what they expected,
if the budgets are not at the heights of our ambitions, if there are
not enough workers for the work to be done, if the resistances and the
obstacles seem insurmountable.
This is how we will accomplish our work of intercession during this
month. May September’s beautiful energies never wither. For us,
it will be a great month of hope.
